Knocking on a Million Doors for Peace

We have a great opportunity to reach out to the peace majority in Connecticut on Saturday, September 20. It's called the Million Doors for Peace.

Lekeisha Taylor is 15 years old; she has been active in social justice causes since she was 13.
Mims Butterworth is 90 years old, involved with peace activity for many decades.

Lee Mabry is a veteran; his son is a soldier on his way to a fourth tour in Iraq.

This Saturday, September 20, these local residents will be working to stop the war in Iraq.

On that day across the nation, 25,000 people will go door-to-door in their neighborhoods with a Peace petition to their Congressional representative. We want you to join us on September 20.

This single event will reach thousands of Connecticut people who don't come to rallies, forums, or other antiwar functions. But the door knocking will get them involved and allow us to grow our network of supporters. The non-partisan Million Doors campaign will also help focus the public's attention on the effects of the war on our economy.

Connecticut Opposes the War (COW) has been very active this year with anti-war events around the state (including a Student Peace Conference at Wesleyan University). Our goal has been to keep the War in the public eye, despite the fact that it has taken a back seat to many other issues. Won't you join us on Saturday, September 20th to keep the pressure on?

Here's how to get involved:
